Las Terrenas is situated in the north east coast of the Dominican Republic
in the Samana Peninsula. Samana Peninsula was an aparted island. Bordered by coconut trees the beaches of white sand compete in beauty with, mountains and mangroves. Las Terrenas and its environment enjoy a blue and transparent sea, spangled with little islands (cayos), exuberant mountains and incredible flora. The greatest part of the beaches are absolutely free from any form of urbanism and native and tropical forest compete with coconut forest and conucos.
Las Terrenas is a peacefull fisher village and a wonderfull place to take a holydays with absolutel serenity.
How to get there?
It’s very easy to reach Las Terrenas:
• By plane.
(daily flights) Portillo Airport is 5 minutes from the village by car.
• By rent a car.
The access remains easy because with the new freeway and the road of the passage of the collins (17 km) completely renewed, Las Terrenas are only at 2 hours of the capital Santo Domingo.
• By bus
Local buses direct since the capital get services 3 times a day or buses of the 2 big national companies get several journeys a day until Sanchez.
